Statement: I use landscapes and symbols that often conjure the image of the southwest to reflect on personal memories and experiences with the supernatural. Subjects that are common throughout my work include desert landscapes, starry skies, floating UFOs, and magical beings you might have heard about in stories.
My work is primarily drawing based, with some exploration in paper weaving and digital drawing. I use bright colors that are reminiscent of a Texas sunset, and humor to help create my other-worldly scenes. Bio: Hannah Davis received her BFA in Drawing from the Cleveland Institute of Art. She has attended residencies at Vermont Studio Center and Elsewhere Studios, and has work included in the Paonia Public Art Lending Library in Colorado. She also co-ran an online art gallery titled Big Toe Gallery with artist Ben Weathers, and currently works as an Art Educator. She is based outside of Dallas, Texas. |
